Recently, I’ve decided I want to change the look of this site.
To be honest, I really don’t like it at all. I like the Wordpress Thesis theme I use, but I hate the header graphic!
Come on! A bunch of people in work attire walking down a hallway? That doesn’t represent me!
I’m laid back. A polo shirt maybe…but a suit to work? I don’t think so!
I like to relax and feel comfortable. If I could wear a t-shirt and jeans everyday I would….oh wait, I think I do.
Anyways, I don’t like the business header graphic I currently have on this site. (If you don’t see it at the top right while reading this, then good. That means I finally changed it).
Ok, where was I?
Oh yeah, logos!
As part of my site redesign plans, I started looking for people that create website logos.
I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on the logo, because quite frankly I’m not even sure how I want my site to look yet.
As I was browsing around I came across several different designers that would create a logo for me. These sites will create header graphics and logos for all kinds of things, not just business websites. You can get business cards, business stationary, postcards, mouse pads, you name it!
It was hard for me to find a site because I like to see plenty of previous work before purchasing. Although many of them had plenty of examples, I wasn’t exactly overwhelmed with excitement at what I was seeing.
Then I cam across LogoNerds.com.
Very cool stuff….
Here are some examples of their work (Click on Portfolio at the top)
Although a little cartoon guy of myself on the beach with a laptop would be pretty cool. Or maybe one of me in my lucky recliner that guarantees Laker victories! But I think I’ll hold off on that for now.
I did however get a basic logo created. It’s something I’ll be able to use not only on my site, but on email signatures, Twitter and Facebook pages….pretty much anywhere.
Here is the logo they created with me.

The process is simple. You go to the LogoNerds Website and submit what you have in mind for your logo. If you have some colors or graphics already in mind, you let them know during the order process. I threw out some basic ideas and hit submit.
A day later I logged into my account and there were 3 sample logos for me. I chose the one I liked the most and added some comments on additions I would like.
Sure enough another day passed and I received a review copy of my logo with the changes. The designer did exactly what I wanted.
I was then able to approve my logo.
The next day I received my completed logo. I was provided with different styles, different graphic formats as well as the psd files should I ever need to make any changes.
I was really pleased with the results and the price.
If you are looking for a logo, I highly recommend these guys. They’ll keep working on your logo until you are happy without any additional costs.
I’m really contemplating getting the little cartoon character one done soon. If I do I’ll be sure to post it!
