Hey this is great software, but after Yahoo’s dead it harder to check our competition..
Yes, the change to Yahoo is kind of a bummer.
I hope to have an updated post for you soon to show you how I check out the competition after Yahoo’s changes.
I bought M.S a week ago & am still trying to get my head around things. I believe I should start by searching for my product & then doing keyword research.. yes ? But my problem lies in finding a product with key words that aren’t too competitve.. most of the key words show up as RED on the left side of the SEO competition module. So hard to find anything. If I do find something there’s very little traffic on those keywords.. So where am I going wrong or is the Affiliate Marketing simply saturated.

Mick, big changes are happening right now… especially with Google. Many of the networks bloggers were using to build a huge amount of backlinks to their sites are being deindexed by Google. So many of those “high competition” keywords you are seeing may not be such high competition in the near future, because many of their backlinks will no longer count.
So if I were you – until the dust settles – I would not worry too much about competition right now. Look at things from your target audiences perspective. What words are they using to find you. Then go ahead and build your site up and focus on those keywords. Use MS to find related keywords that you can use as well. After you have your onsite SEO setup, then focus on building a buzz on the social networks. Those links are going to be extremely powerful in boosting your site in the rankings.
