3 Basic Principles of Social Media

by Eric Transue on June 15, 2009

Do you know who Gary Vaynerchuk is?

If not I suggest that you read up on him.

Gary is by far one of my favorite marketers.  Although his in your face style is a little over the top for some, I really enjoy it.  He keeps things interesting and is one of the best at preventing my (OADD) Online Attention Deficit Disorder from kicking in.

Recently I found a video on YouTube of Gary talking about the basic principles of Social Media that I thought you would enjoy.

Three Principles Gary touches on are…

  1. Be passionate about what you do.
  2. Be knowledgeable in your field.  Your audience will catch on if you have no idea what you are talking about and you will lose them.
  3. Listen to your audience.

Here is the video of Gary on CNN discussing how to use Social Media to build a relationship with your audience.

Sylvia, I’m in the same boat as you. I’m hoping as I get in front of the camera more and more, it will get easier!
