Create a Google Profile

by Eric Transue on June 23, 2009

When somebody searches for your name on Google what shows up?

If you are lucky it will be a bunch of sites you have either created or that you already know about.

Most likely those sites will include your blog, a Myspace page, a Facebook page, your Twitter profile, Linkden and possibly several other Web 2.0 sites.

Did you know that you can also create a Google Profile and have it show up on page one of Google almost immeadiately?

Here is what I see at the bottom of the search results when I search for “Eric Transue” on Google.

Your goal should be to own as many of the top results for your name as possible.

One of the easiest and quickest ways to do this is a Google Profile.

Your profile can include images, links to websites you have and a bio about yourself.

Here is a link to my profile…I know it needs some work but you get the idea.

You’re welcome…glad you like my posts Leslie!

Keep me updated. I’d love to know how long it takes for your profile to start showing up on the first page of Google when you search for your name. I just tried and I’m not seeing yours yet, but I’m sure it won’t be long.
