YouTube has been amazing for me. Not nearly enough people take advantage of the power YouTube as a promotional tool. YouTube accounts for a large majority of the traffic to my sites, as well as builds my name and my brand.

Optimize your videos and it can act as one insanely powerful marketing tool.

Happy New Year,
Matt Wolfe

Joan, for your celeb blog here is what I would do to drive traffic from Youtube without having to use anybody's video footage.

First create a post on your blog. Then flip on your webcam, discuss that post a bit and then upload it to Youtube. Post a link back to your blog in the description and possibly in the video as well.

It doesn't have to be a long video just something to generate interest in your post or blog that makes the viewer want to click through.

If you end up trying this technique, let me know how it goes. I think you'll see some good results and even start to build up a following :)

I personally find 1, 4 and 5 more effective to utilize. Though I am not yet into taking advantage of videos to gather viral traffic to my celebrity blog. (I am actually trying to figure out how to connect videos with my celebrity blog in a way that isn't spam and plagiarizing others contents. Any suggestions?)

And yes, optimizing well the uploaded video is not the end of the story. You still have to spread the words about it to make it popular and from there get the equivalent viral traffic.

Anyways, good guide. I'll surely get back to this whenever I want to start video marketing.

Regards,
Joan
