I have a new tool and I love it!
A few weeks ago I was watching the Twenty Minute Tackle with Justin and Chaunna Brooke and they mentioned Get Clicky.
I’ve always enjoyed digging into the analytics of my sites. Afterall, if I don’t know what is happening then how can I tweak it to make it better?
When I say make it better this includes several things.
- Getting you to stay on my site longer
- Getting you to return more often
- Getting my affiliate products that I think will help you…convert better
- Making sure my site is optimized and receiving traffic for the keywords I am targeting
- Getting you to tell your friends about my site
Now I have all the information necessary in Google Analytics but sometimes the information is delayed and I have to wait a day or two for it to show up. Also, when I want to track clicks on external links, I either have to install special plugins or I have to alter the link code so that GA will track the click.
I have been using Google Analytics for years and it provides me with a ton of information. Plus it’s free! The problem is, it often takes me to long to drill down to exactly what I am looking for. Don’t get me wrong it is great that all the info is there for me to dig into, however sometimes I want to log in and see what’s going on right away.
That’s where Get Clicky steps in. After testing it for only a few hours I was hooked and immeadiately upgraded to the “Pro plan” which costs $59.99 a year.
Once you login to Get clicky you will be presented with the dashboard view.
This view provides you an overview of what is going on in real time for the current day.
The beauty of the real-time stats is, if I were to post something on Twitter or see a sudden upswing in traffic to one of my pages due to a news story or some other surge, I can quickly react and make sure that page is optimzied to take advantage of this traffic.
For instance if I see a surge in traffic and notice that people are quickly bouncing from the site, I may need to react quickly and provide content that causes them to stick around longer such as a video, images or some type of relevant giveaway.
With Google Analytics I would have to wait until the next day for all the analytics to come in and by then it could be to late. I would have missed out on a huge opportunity to take advantage of that sudden surge in traffic.
Aside from the real-time analytics, did I mention iPhone support? That’s right, Get Clicky has a web interface that looks great on my iPhone. So if you are an analytics junkie like me, you can now access your stats from anywhere you have reception or a wifi connection. Woohoo!
Now, it’s still the honeymoon stage for me and GetClicky, but so far things are going great and the service is well worth the $59.99 I have paid.
Don’t take my word for it, try Get Clicky today

Eric, Google Analytic is always the final destination for me to look after the traffic details for my sites… however in my case I didn’t faced the problems of the delay as you have mentioned, though I’ve heard about it, but I’ve been lucky to not to have such problem. Get Clicky sounds amazing but I think the high cost limits its chances to get popular.

I still have Google Analytics installed on all of my sites, I just don’t visit the reports as often anymore.
Although, I have to pay for GetClicky…since starting to use it, I don’t think I could go back now. The interface really makes it easy for me to get to the information I am looking for quickly. The ability to get to it from my iPhone is just icing on the cake.
Hey Eric,
You were right that sometime the wait for the stats in google analytics is really annoying, but the information is truly worthy, there’s no doubt in that.
Get clicky seems to be a wonderful tool, as with it I can monitor my blog’s traffic with ease and at any moment, and above all its not that costly as I expected it.
Thanks for introducing it, I will surely give it a try.
GetClicky is great when I need to quickly see what is happening on my site. Actually, I’m quite addicted to it
It’s one of the tools I cannot live without.
However, I still do have Google Analytics installed as well, in case I ever need to pull some more detailed reports.
