I’m calling on all my readers for help!
I need an alarm clock. I’m not talking about just any alarm clock, I’m talking about a reverse alarm clock.
Instead of one that tells me to get up, I need one that tells me to go to sleep.
Do you need one as well? If so then you may have found your passion in life.
When I get home at night after work I start working on my online projects.
I work on creating new content, learning new techniques, testing new products and more importantly building relationships with other like minded people such as yourself.
I want to learn from you and I hope that you can learn from me.
The problem is I get lost in my own little Internet world at night and lose track of time. If it wasn’t for the fear of how I am going to feel when that alarm goes off in the morning, I might never go to bed.
Okay…maybe that’s exaggerating a bit, but you get the idea.
Is it a bad thing that I am losing sleep or a good thing that I have found something that I am so in to that I almost forget to sleep?
I’m going to go with it’s a good thing.
It’s a great feeling to make money off something I love to do.
You may be putting in the long hours as well, but not seeing any money in return.
If this is the case, first ask yourself do I enjoy doing this? If the answer is yes, then keeping pushing forward.
Each day is a learning experience and as long as your overall progress is continually moving forward the money will eventually come.
If you answered no, then this probably isn’t for you.
Don’t do something you don’t enjoy just because you heard you can make some money doing it.
Life is too short.
There are plenty of ways to make money in this world. Why not make it doing something you enjoy?
Maybe you enjoy inventing things. If so, when you invent the reverse alarm clock please let me know. But keep in mind it may need to have some mechanism to knock me out because after all I am an expert with the snooze button!

Hey Eric,
I think it’s great that you have found what makes you really happy… i also think it’s good to lose sleep. Bill Gates lost a lot of sleep.
Thanks James. You are right…I’m willing to bet Bill Gates has had a lot of sleepless nights in his lifetime.
Hey Eric, I’m fairly new to IM but I’m experiencing the same thing – I could quite happily work all night on my online projects! Although they aren’t making me a lot of money yet, I get a real kick from every little improvement, and it spurs me on to the next one.
That’s great Pete!
Don’t get discouraged that you aren’t making a lot of money yet….it will come. Just keep pushing forward.
The fact that you are happy working on your projects will make the process much easier and more enjoyable when they do start to make some good money.
If you haven’t read the book Crush It, I highly suggest you take a look at it.
Thanks for the encouragement Eric, I’ll certainly keep pushing! I’m increasing my earnings every week, and am on target to do the same again this week, so it’s nice to know that I’m moving in the right direction!
I haven’t seen that book before, I’ll check it out, looks like an interesting read.
I see nothing wrong with losing sleep over something you love. Much to often I work long hours for my “day job”, and I definitely don’t love it!
You should be sure you get enough sleep not to affect your health, but keep going if you love it… I do…:-)

Thanks Darvin! I’m still not getting much sleep over here, but I’m loving every second of it
Good post Eric. I used to do a job I hated for years. Now I’m doing something I love and it’s so much easier to get out of bed in the mornings!

That’s awesome, I’m glad you found something you love!
It's actually indeed hard to manage your day job and your sleeping hours. Some tend to oversleep and some tend to NOT sleep, which is bad for your health.
I some how fall in to both categories.
I stay up late and then when I do sleep I have trouble getting up. I love sleeping, but hate going to bed!
