Kevin, it's not to late to modify your existing site. There are many simple steps that can be taken such as optimizing your title tag, meta description and adding your keywords to your existing content.

You are definitely going to want to target long tail keywords, that have good search volume. You'll want to make sure that the competition for your keywords isn't too high, otherwise it will be tough getting ranked. I plan on doing a series on the step by step process that I use when looking for keywords. Subscribe to my site, if you haven't already, so you don't miss that when it is released.

One of my mentors Justin Brooke has an excellent product called SEO Lies. It's one of the best best books I have read on SEO. The book is $19.95 on his site but if you click the "add to cart" button you'll see an option to buy the digital version for $1. It's well worth it! Justin gives great advice without the BS.

Howdy

I have to admit I have not been doing keyword research for my sites. I wonder if you think it would be to late to make some changes in keywords, or should I just start over?

I agree! Although there are several paid research tools I use on a regular basis, there are many great free tools such as Google's, that do just as good a job. The paid tools often just pull the same data but speed up the whole research process a little bit.

Keyword research is important for succeeding in any online business. With the kiind of competition that exists in the Internet Marketing arena today, if one has to survive and excel, you have to do your homework.
It is is not always necessary that you buy expensive keyword research tools, there are quite a few free tools available online that can do the job for you. For that matter even Google's free keyword research tool is also very useful/

Checkout R Kumar’s blog..Bing - The Microsoft competition to Google
