It’s Goal Setting Time!

by Eric Transue on January 9, 2010

First off, Happy New Year all! I hope you enjoyed the holidays.

Some of you have emailed me asking me for an update. Well, here it is.

I have been creating my “blueprint” for the New Year. When I started out in Internet Marketing I didn’t have a target. And guess what? It’s hard to hit a target when you don’t have one in your sights.

I purchased many WSO’s over at Warrior Forum.  I bought plenty of products that were supposed to help me start making money online. I had all the tools!

My problem was I had to many tools. I had a ton of ebooks on my hard drive. I had all the keyword research tools. I had subscriptions to some of the most popular “Guru” sites, services and training programs. The problem was, I didn’t have enough time to implement all of them.

Funny enough, my success came once I focused on a few of the ebooks, products and programs and pushed the rest to the back burner.

Once I figured this out all the pieces started to fall into place.

I have spent the last week setting my goals for the New Year. I even purchased a Franklin Covey planner and I’m loving it. I’ve tried quite a few personal planner iPhone apps and computer programs, but something about being able to write everything down still works best for me.

As part of my plan each year, I like to go back and do a little yearly cleanup.

Here is what I do to clean up

  1. I go through my email inbox and unsubscribe from all the newsletters that haven’t helped me over the past year.  You know the ones I’m talking about.  I’m talking about the annoying digital salesmen that knock at my inbox door every day with the next push button make money strategy.
  2. I then log into my paypal account (I use paypal for all my subscription services and product purchase).  I look at all the subscriptions I have.  I cancel the ones I no longer use, or that are costing me more than they have helped me earn.  Don’t be scared to cancel them.  You can always rejoin once you start making some money.

Once I have done this cleanup, I decide on the 1 or 2 things I want to focus on at the beginning of the year.

For me, I have recently been focused on creating Sniper sites and I am starting to see some great results promoting affiliate products using the Sniper techniques.

As I have said before, I also like to test out products to see what is and isn’t working, so that you don’t have to waste your money.

I’ve been testing two products, which I won’t be mentioning until I can get a better feel for them.  Be sure to sign up for my newsletter below for future info on my results.  Although I love to provide info here on my blog, I also enjoy giving my subscribers a little extra.

I hope that answers all the questions on what I’ve been up to.

If you haven’t done so yet, grab a pen and paper and draft your blueprint for the New Year.

What do you want to achieve this year?  How do you plan on doing it?  Write it down and review it often!

You can make 2010 your best year yet!
